Dirt Cake

For Obadiah's First Birthday we did a Joint Party with his buddy Ezekiel, who was born about a week after Obadiah. Ezekiel's Mommy made a Special Yummy Cake for the two special birthday boys!

A few days after the birthday party, my husband hinted that he wanted me to make one. So, I did.

This Dirt Cake that I made I used Yellow Cake, you can also use Chocolate Cake, Next time I will use Chocolate Cake. Then you put chocolate pudding over the cake. Then you crunch up oreo cookies and pour them over to cover the cake with as little Or much as you would like. Then, I Add Gummy Worms. A very Simple, Easy, And Delious Cake!

I have a new snack that I Love. Oreos & Chocolate Pudding! You should Try it sometime!!

Grilled Ribs

I am a bit behind because I have been out of town. We made this for dinner a little bit before Bud and I left to MI.

This next recipe is one my hubby makes! They are SO Good! This takes a very long time to make-it is not a quick meal!

Before we had a grill we baked the ribs-drinched them in apple juice and put salt and pepper over them.

Since, we now have a grill with a smoker. We grill them and put apple flavored chips in the smoker.

I took pictures with the different steps. My husband is not here right now for me to ask the 'details' of each step, I also can not remember the steps because I think we had these a month ago.

This recipe is WELL worth the time and wait. We also wraper potatoes up in foil and put them on the grill. We had a few other items with this meal that I can not remember.

Beef Strognoff-Scratch

Here is my recipe to make Beef Strognoff from Scratch!

Ingredients:

extra wide egg noodles (or any other noodles, I used spaghetti noodles)
1 10.5oz cream of mushroom soup
1 lb ground beef or 2 cups cubed beef
parsley
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cold milk
1 package brown or beef gravy mix

1) Boil noodles.
2) brown beef with onion and parsley. Drain.
3) Open cream of mushroom soup into a small mixing bowl.
4) Mix gravy mix with milk and stir into cream of mushroom.
5) Pour creamy brown sauce into noodles and add browned beef.
6) Warm on low-medium heat and stir until well mixed.

Christopher wanted extra mushrooms, so we added them in!
I took several pictures, trying to make the food look good...but, christopher said, "No matter how many picture you take, Beef Strogonoff will never look 'good'-its just one of those foods that looks gross but tastes Amazing!

Homemade Pancakes

1 1/4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt

I added blueberries in these pancakes. I chopped the blueberries up with my chopper! You can add whatever 'extra' yummies you want to the batter, as much or as little as you like!

1) Mix all ingredients together
2) Heat small amount of oil or butter onto pan.
3) Pour small amount onto pan to form circles.
4) Flip cakes when top of pancakes starts to bubble.
5) Brown buttom side for about 1 minute after flipping.

Bud is paitently...waiting for the pancakes...

Trail Mix Oatmeal

I decided to make oatmeal for breakfast so I decided to 'spiff' it up with healthy yummies!!

I love the first picture--You can see Bud chowing down in the background!

Well, as you can tell by the first two pictures-the ingrediants I added into the oatmeal: milk, peanut butter, brown sugar, & trail mix! For the trail mix I used my chopper to chop up the trail mix pieces which imclude: raisins, m&m's & mixed nuts. I decided to chop them to make them smaller so the tastes would be more joined and because it would be better for Bud to eat.

As you can tell from the photo below--Bud Really Liked this!

Intoduction!

As many of you can tell I have one, created a cooking blog and two, this is my first post on this blog! I decided to create a cooking blog because As a Help meet to my husband and a stay at home wife/mother I cook A LOT, More now that Obadiah has begun to eat solid food. I thought this would be a fun blog to do. I am all ready behind...I have at least 3 posts to do from things I have 'created' in my kitchen. I plan on doing several different types of posts--But, All having to do with things going on in Our Kitchen!! I would love feedback and I hope you check back often to see what is going on in our kitchen!
